This page contains instructions on the syllabus, material submission, and accessing lecture recordings. Save these instructions as you may want to refer to them each week.
Instructions: You will schedule your calls with David directly. Prior to the first call, please send David your series pitch deck as a PDF.
Meeting #1: You will send your pitch deck to David. David will review and give feedback on your deck, focusing on helping you build out your story and your world.
Meeting #2: David will review your revised pitch deck and give final feedback. He will answer questions and prep you for your 20 minute series pitch.
Meeting #3: You will practice your 20 minute series pitch as if you were pitching at the studio level. David will create a real world environment, ask you the questions studio execs would ask, and give you feedback on the pitch.
Meeting #4: You will practice your 20 minute series pitch again and David will give you final thoughts and answer questions.
Code of Conduct: Roadmap Writers programs are for training purposes only. These execs are working with us independently from their respective companies. Developing material with an executive does not mean you are developing material for their company. Please do not ask the execs to read your material or for business/personal contact info. Keep all conversations focused on feedback. Any writer making an executive feel uncomfortable or pressured to request material will result in instant termination from the program and prevent the writer from working with Roadmap again. Unless otherwise instructed, do not contact the executive by phone or email outside the scope of the program.
