About Your Host

Shelley Phillips is a junior development exec with a passion for representing underserved communities in media. Hailing from a small town outside of San Francisco, she first discovered her love for storytelling when she learned to read and dreamt of becoming a novelist herself. When Shelley was fifteen, she spent a summer abroad studying Creative Writing at Cambridge University. After two years of community college, she transferred to New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts. In 2015, at the age of twenty, Shelley graduated from NYU with an Honors Bachelor of Fine Arts in Film and Television and minors in Producing and the Business of Entertainment, Media, and Technology. Shelley then attended UCLA’s MFA Producers Program, where she focused on Television Writing, Development, and Programming. She has worked in various capacities across the entertainment industry, including in digital camera technology, foreign sales, non-profit, physical production, and development. Shelley currently works at Viewfinder Pictures.
